OPENING PRAYER - Rev Clarence Fu, St. Michael's Church

Merciful Father and Lord of all life, we praise you that men are made in your image and reflect your truth and light. We thank you for the lives of all these men whom you have received into your bosom, for the love and mercy they received from you and showed among us. Above all we rejoice at your gracious promise to all your servants, living and departed; that we shall rise again at the coming of Christ. And we ask that in due time we may share with our brothers that clearer vision, when we shall face in the same Christ our Lord. Almighty God, be with us this day as we remember those who have sacrifice their lives and gone to be with you, in Jesus name we pray. Amen.

HYMN - HE LEADETH ME - led by SIC Choir

He leadeth me, 0 blessed thought

0 words with heav'nly comfort fraught

      Whate'er I do, where'er I be

Still 'tis God's hand that leadeth me

      Refrain:

He leadeth me, He leadeth me

By His own hand He leadeth me

His faithful follower I would be

For by His hand He leadeth me

Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom

      Sometimes where Eden's bowers bloom

By waters still, over troubled sea

Still 'tis His hand that leadeth me

      (Refrain)

Lord, I would place my hand in Thine

      Nor ever murmur nor repine

      Content, whatever lot I see

Since 'tis my God that leadeth me

      (Refrain)

And when my task on earth is done

When by Thy grace the vict'ry's won

E'en death's cold wave I will not flee

Since God through Jordan leadeth me

      (Refrain)

PRAYER OF REMEMBRANCE - Rev. Tsen Heng Kbng,  BCCM

    Almighty God, our heavenly Father,

On this day of remembrance, we recall with thanksgiving those who made the supreme sacrifice for us in the time of war. They died in the service of their country and ours. We know that the offering of their lives was not in vain for today, we stand here in freedom.

Almighty God, from whose love in Christ, we cannot be parted, by death or by life; hear our prayers and thanksgiving for those whom we remember this day.

We give thanks for all that makes our common life secure; for the peace and freedom we enjoy; for the opportunity that is ours of building a better society for the generations to come. We remember with pride and gratitude those who fought and died to make this possible; and we pray that the memory of their sacrifice may inspire us to dedicate ourselves anew to the cause of justice, freedom, and peace; and give us the wisdom and strength to continue to strive to build a better world.

By your grace enable us this day to seek your kingdom and to do your will for the world today; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

    A VETERAN'S REMINISCENCE 1

    Mr. John Pope (Australia)

    HYMN - AMAZING GRACE

Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me

I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see

Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved

How precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed

Thru many danger, toils and snares I have already come

Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home

When we've been there ten thousand year, bright shining as the sun

We've no less days to sing God's praise than when we'd first begun

    A VETERAN'S REMINISCENCE 2

    Mr. Bryan Paul Lai (Malaysia)

SCRIPTURE READING - Fr. Paul Lo,  Roman Catholic Church

A Reading taken from the 1st letter of St Paul to the Thessalonians 4 : 13-18

    Reader:

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you should sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

This is the word of the Lord.

      All:       Thanks be to God

PRAYER FOR PEACE - Pastor Antonio Tang,  Calvary Charismatic Church

    Pastor:

Our Almighty God, God of all peace, You created mankind to be heirs of Your glory.

We bless and thank You because You sent us Jesus Your beloved Son. You made Him, by the mystery of His Passion, the protagonist of our salvation, the font of all peace, the bond of all fraternity.

We are thankful for the yearnings, struggles and accomplishments that Your Spirit of peace has inspired in our days, substituting hatred with love, distrust with understand, and indifference with solidarity.

Open more our spirits and hearts to the concrete needs of all our brothers and sisters so that we may more and more be architects of peace.

Remember, 0 Father, all who struggle, suffer and die for the birth of a more fraternal world. May your kingdom of justice, peace and love come to people of all race and languages.

We ask all these, to the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

      All:           Amen.

    HYMN - BEYOND THE SUNSET

Beyond the sunset, 0 blissful morning

When with our Saviour heaven is begun

Earth's toiling ended, 0 glorious dawning

Beyond the sunset, when day is done

Beyond the sunset, no clouds will gather

No storms will threaten, no fears annoy

      0 day of gladness, 0 day un-ending

      Beyond the sunset, eternal joy

Beyond the sunset a hand will guide me to God

      The Father whom I adore

His glorious presence, His words of welcome

Will be my portion on that fair shore

BENEDICTION - Canon Moses Chin, The Church of Good Shepherd

Almighty God, from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed; kindle in us, we pray, the true love of peace; and guide with your pure and peaceable wisdom, those who take counsel for the nations of the earth; that in tranquility your kingdom may go forward, till the earth is filled with the knowledge of your love; and may the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, be with us all, evermore. Amen.
